**Please note that this post will be a long one so brace yourself for an overload of information. Do pee/crap if you must before proceeding** Good evening, wunderkins! I have returned from marvellous Chiang Mai to terrorize each and every one of you into submission for this Sunday's (30/03/2008) potluck dinner! Here are the major details: What: NP Sailing's Potluck When: 7PM, Sunday, 30 March 2008 Where: Anchorage condo, opposite IKEA at Queensway This is the part where you might get a wee bit muddle-headed but nonetheless, I assure you that it's painless. We've randomly divided all of you into various food courses and here are your groupings. Appetisers • Eileen • Ginni • Lance • Max • Sean • Sheereen • Tze yang • Weilson Main Course • Alvin • Charles • James • Joel Tan • Samuel • Shi Mei • Yuan Cheng • Zhi Kang Dessert • Crystal • Daniel Low • Daniel Ng • Jerryson • Joel Ho • Justin • Xin Jian • Zhi Liang For everyone's benefit, we've also come up with a list of examples of food that can be brought from each category. Please note that these lists are NOT exhaustive. They are guides to help you if you can't think of what to bring. Appetisers: • Sandwiches • Soups • Samosas • Dim sum • Finger food i.e. Fish fingers, fries, fish balls, hot dogs etc • Cold cuts • Potato chips Main course: • Fried rice • Fried noodles • Pizza • Pasta • Veggie platters * Vegetables are a MUST-HAVE under this category. Failure to comply shall result in a forfeit Dessert: • Fruit cocktails • Muffins • Brownies • Cakes (pandan/chocolate) • Cheng tng • Konnyaku jelly • Grass jelly Alright, so now that the groupings and food list examples have been cleared, we have also come up with RULES. :) I assume in good faith that we are all responsible and sensible young men and women so do follow the rules. Should you be unsure about anything, feel free to ask me. I do not bite, this I promise. RULES 1. As far as possible, the amount of money spent on the food items should be split equally among all the group members in the respective groups 2. There will be no reimbursement for this Picnic-cum-Potluck. Hence, all members should kindly take note that $10 is the recommended “safe” amount to spend 3. Unless otherwise stated, all food items should be prepared by hand. However, if member from any group chooses to purchase food item (say someone from Appetisers decides to buy potato chips), there should be no “kiam siap-ness” involved. 4. Each person should bring an adequate amount of food to feed him/herself and at least five others. 5. Save The Environment:
Okay, I'm kidding about the banana leaves but I doubt anyone wants to stick out like a sore thumb, yes? I will be e-mailing each and everyone of you the information I've just posted on the blog (just in case anyone doesn't read it, which shouldn't be the case). Please confirm your attendance for the potluck dinner with me via sms at 9116 6486 by this Friday, 28 march 2008. Direct any queries about the dinner to either me or Crystal (9848 1698). Have a good weekend, everyone! :) Sailed at 7:55 PM | PERMALINK |
